HOLDING SPACE

Form Exploration—2019

Trust is a relationship in which vulnerability is essential. By taking agency of one’s vulnerabilities and acknowledging it as an asset, one can foster a stronger relationship with those who you share them with. Trust and understanding of other perspectives can then manifest itself from this intimate exchange.

Holding Space is a portable safe space where 2 individuals can share their vulnerabilities with one another in hopes that it will enable them to create a trusting relationship and hopefully see their similarities and their humanness.

Participants answer 6 questions and exchange their responses through a slot. After finishing all the questions they are given the opportunity to talk to one another and discuss what had happen through an opening behind a mirror. Some participants knew one another while others were paired with a complete stranger.
